Gulf Shores Awarded AdvantageSite Distinction

The Gulf Shores Business and Aviation Park was recently designated as an Alabama AdvantageSite by the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama.
To meet the needs of industry, Alabama’s economic development community is working to designate an inventory of industrial sites with key documentation for accurate, timely project evaluation. This documentation is crucial, as companies have less time and shorter deadlines in which to evaluate sites.
In other words, AdvantageSite gives potential developers incentive by making it faster and easier to build on these designated sites.
“This achievement helps to advance Vision 2025 and our continued commitment to diversifying our economy by working to attract targeted new and expanding industries to our community,” Gulf Shores Mayor Robert Craft said in a prepared statement.
The designation is the result of a collaborative effort between the City of Gulf Shores, the Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance and the Airport Authority.
Claudia Zimmerman, Alabama Power Company Senior Project Manager and member of the AdvantageSite Review Committee, will present Mayor Craft and the City with the AdvantageSite plaque at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Oct. 5.
